Well I'm a blonde now! No more wigs for work, yay! Again, I was feeling a bit retro in my favorite thrifted dress! This has been my favorite find so far. It doesn't have a tag, the hem stitch isn't straight and the inside stitching is white not red so that leads me to think that it was a hand made project. This actually makes me love the dress even more because I can rarely find thrifted clothes that fit my big hips and boobs. It's like this dress and I were made for each other!

Like I've said before, give thrift shops a look! You never know what you'll find! Some of my favorites in the Portland area are Red Light, House of Vintage, Crossroads, Buffalo Exchange, and the ever popular Goodwill. If you know of other ones in the Portland area that you enjoy leave a comment bellow and I'll check them out.

Retro has been the feel lately! It's usually my go to style when I don't want to try as hard to look cute, it's a very easy and classic style to pull off especially on a fuller figure.

A lot of go to pieces for a retro look that I have in my closet are pencil skirts, circle skirts, cardigans, cami tanks, fitted dresses, cap sleeve tops, cuffed bottom skinny denim, flats in many colors and patterns, wedges, converse, and all the accessories! Pearls, bandannas, hair flowers, head scarves, and many more no retro look is complete without red lipstick ;)

I was feeling a bit sassier today, went a little darker with my make up and clothing. Going a little darker, especially with my lipstick makes me feel so mysterious. Playing around with your look is the best way to find out what you really like. Myself, well it really just depends on the day. Some days I'm feeling dark, kind of rocker. Other days I'm feeling a little more retro or even a little girly.

It's not about what you know, It's about who you know! My mom and aunt have their own little knitting business (Sister Knits) which can be found on facebook! So I guess you could say I have a pretty good hook up for knitted goods.

I'm sorry that I've been absent for a while, I had a lack of internet for a while. No worries, I'm back!
Since I was gone I have applied for my first official salon job, been apartment hunting , and trying to plan my next move!

So where did I leave off last, well today it was a very earth tone kind of day. I wasn't feeling too glamorous just kind of wanted to fade into the back round at work. I feel like there is nothing wrong with wanting to look a little normal some days.

Scarf: Thrifted $4
Lace top: Lane Bryant discounted $17
Plain black tank: H&M $10
Slacks: Lane Bryant Discount $20
Black wedges: Payless $25
Ring: Lane Bryant Clearance $7
For a grand total of $83!

I'm always into nice thrift finds! Even if it's as simple as a scarf. Being plus sized it is a lot harder to find nice thrift finds so I get a lot of thrifted accessories, shoes, purses and what not. I did find a really nice dress that I will be posting up here soon. So my curvaceous ladies, do not fear the thrift stores. You never know what you'll find, and it might take some digging but keep looking and you'll eventually find some treasures.

We have a week until Valentines day so we're going to talk about being sexy. A womans body is sexy no matter what because it is scientifically proven that womans features are softer which is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Personally it's the confidence that you have in yourself that can move you from just being physically sexy to being an all around bombshell! Look at naked body in a mirror, head to toe, and just look at it. Don't think "wow, I wish my thighs didn't touch, I  wish my stomach was flatter, I wish I didn't see cellulite." Let all of your negative thoughts leave your pretty little head and say "I am beautiful." It sounds so cliche but I do this every night as I change into pajamas and I swear to you nothing can build your confidence better than you can. As you say "I am beautiful."  find things you like about your body and only think of those things.
Sometimes you just need to lay in bed in your sexiest lingerie and just look at how hot you are!

Thigh highs: Lane Bryant discount $7
Lace and satin skirt garter belt: Lane Bryant discount $12
Matching satin bra: Lane Bryant discount $14
Black Satin, mesh back panties: Lane Bryant $4
For a grand sexy total of $37

I have a new found love for slacks! I have only ever owned one pair of slacks and I hated them! They didn't fit me right, they were too long, and I was maybe 14? It was awful! Since then I have loathed the day that I would have to wear them again, UNTIL TODAY!
I'm a moderately curvy girl, meaning I'm hourglass shaped as apposed to straight or pear shaped, so I've always gotten the pants at my work made for moderately curvy shapes. Never in a million years would I think "I bet a straight fit pant will fit over my thighs." NO WAY! Never say never ladies! I have fallen in love with a pair of straight fit slacks. Granted to accommodate the hips I do have I went up a size but that's just a number and damn does my body look good in these pants!
Just a little reminder to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while and just try something you wouldn't normally try.

Leopard print bandanna: Walmart $1
Blazer: Goodwill (Charlotte Russe) $10
Tshirt: Old Navy sale $5
Lace cami: Lane Bryant discount $7
Slacks: Lane Bryant discount $20
Leopard print flats: Macy's clearance $8
For a grand total of $51!

A size is just a number. That number does not define who you are. If its a clothing size or a bra size that you didn't used to wear, or never thought you'd wear, we are women and our bodies are constantly changing. Buy/wear clothes that you feel confident and beautiful in.

2-3-14

I've been trying to be a good role model for my fellow co workers so that maybe they will be inspired to wear things other than leggings and and cardigans. (Not that I'm hating on leggings and cardigans, that's an amazing comfy casual outfit) but working in the fashion industry we need to always look our best and always be fashion forward. So I went and got myself a blazer! I'm madly in love with this thing! It is figure flattering and makes any outfit look business chic.

Headband: H&M sale $3
Blazer: Goodwill (Charlotte Russe): $10
Button up: H&M $13
Necklace: H&M sale $6
Belt: Lane Bryant clearance $7
Skirt: Forever21+ $10
Plain black tights: Target $5
Boots: Payless sale $20
For a grand total of $74!

One of my outfit rules that we use at my store is an outfit should consist of at least 5 pieces. That could be a cardigan, blouse, cami, pants, and shoes. That's it! Not even accessorized and you have 5 pieces. This outfit consists of 8 pieces but a minimum of 5 makes everything look complete.
